Content Writers / Designers

  • 12 Month Contract
  • Any Location: ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, TAS, SA, VIC, WA
  • Ability to obtain a Baseline Clearance

Our Client, a large Federal Government Department with office locations across Australia is seeking to engage Multiple Content Writers / Designers for a 12 month contract opportunity. As part of the Targeted Content team you will design and deliver plain English and accessible content that helps millions of Australians looking for work. You will create, review and update content for Workforce Australia and related employment programs, across a range of channels.

We produce content for a range of mediums and channels, including:

  • the WorkforceAustralia.gov.au website (both public-facing and authenticated content)
  • the Workforce Australia app and supervisor app
  • the Workforce Australia digital assistant
  • notifications sent by email, SMS and mobile app
  • knowledge base articles used by call centre staff
  • knowledge management (internal knowledge content).

We’re looking for content designers with experience in a similar role. We’re open to those with varying experience in producing digital content. We’re also open to entry level content writers, and those in other communication professions who want to become a content designer. We’re also interested in those at the more senior levels to work as content leads.

To be deemed suitable for this opportunity, you will some or all of the following:

Create content, including:

  • design, plan, edit and write best practice plain English and accessible digital content
  • balance business needs with user needs
  • use data and research to inform content improvement
  • content management
  • develop content patterns
  • work with IT to design and deliver content
  • contribute to departmental style guides, strategies and policies

Manage competing priorities, including:

  • manage many content projects at the same time
  • allocate resources appropriately
  • track and communicate progress
  • identify and manage risks
  • problem solve
  • meet deadlines.

Maintain good working relationships, including:

  • work with multidisciplinary teams in an agile project environment
  • take part in IT planning workshops
  • develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • negotiate and liaise with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • prepare and deliver presentations.
