Test Lead (multiple)

  • 12 Month Contract + 2 X 12 Month Extension
  • 01 July 2024 Start Date
  • Ability to obtain a NV1 Clearance

Our Client, a large Federal Government Department located in Canberra is seeking to engage suitability qualified and experienced Test Leads to deliver and support a range of ICT Projects and Programs.

The Test Leads will be responsible for leading a small agile testing team as well as being hands on with writing and executing Test Cases, writing the Test Plan and Strategy and Test Reporting.

Key duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Working within multiple development teams to understand the scope of product releases and work with the team to develop acceptance criteria based on business objectives, functional requirement and service level requirements;
  • Developing test plans, test scenarios and / or test scripts for a specific release;
  • Undertaking testing activities including functional, integration and regression testing for each release cycle;
  • Reporting and tracking the resolution of issues as they are found in testing;
  • Assisting with issue triaging;
  • Developing test reports;
  • Fostering a positive workplace culture.

Mandatory Criteria:

  • 5+ years dedicated testing experience and 3+ years leadership experience;
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills;
  • Proficiency using tools such as Microsoft Test Manager, Jira and Azure DevOps;
  • Strong experience with backend API testing / interface: REST, JSON, XML;
  • Strong experience with standalone .NET applications and websites;
  • Strong SQL querying ability;
  • Proven experience of working in an Agile team.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science (or other relevant discipline);
  • Automation skills;
  • Strong programming knowledge.
