Strategic Service Designer (UX / HCD) Contract

• 8 + 1 month contract – November Start
• $120 – $145 per hour (inc-Super)
• Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney address
• Baseline Security Clearance mandatory

Our client, a large Federal Government Organisation, are seeking the experience of a Strategic Service Designer (UX / HCD) for a 8 + 1 month contract based in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

Duties of the Strategic Service Designer (UX / HCD)

• Drive the development and implementation of human centred evidence-based design and design thinking to support strategic conversations and outcomes for stakeholders.
• Develop processes, guidance documentation and training materials that will enable the resources within the Service Design team to undertake services consistently and in alignment with industry best practice approaches and aligning to relevant internal strategy, business architecture and design frameworks.
• Transform complex findings and outcomes into impactful and actionable outputs across a variety of formats, to inform decision-making and produce Executive level communications and materials.
• Take the initiative in achieving outcomes, progressing work, reviewing performance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with service designers in the team and partner with the workforce planning and learning development teams to plan, drive and implement this work.
• Work independently, under broad direction, to deliver the outcomes

Skills and Experience Required

• 5+ years’ experience in human-centered design methods with a focus on Service Design/ Strategy/ Research. Tertiary qualifications in User Experience Design, Service Design or related disciplines.
• Proven experience of driving strategy in a large organisation.
• Demonstrates strong collaborative stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience.
• The ability to leads and champion a human-centered design, growth mindset and embrace agile approaches and rituals, to work in or with multidisciplinary teams to deliver individual, team and branch objectives.
• Clear communication and experience presenting to and/or leading workshops with stakeholders.
