Project Manager

Our Client, a Federal Government Department located in the Canberra City is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager to join their team for a long term contract opportunity.

The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver one or more projects within the Agency’s Information and Technology Services (ITS) section;
  • Effectively manage multidisciplinary project teams using Agile project management methodologies (such as PMBOK, Prince2, AgilePM, Scrum, Kanban) to deliver outcomes;
  • Develop or manage the development of typical project artefacts, to ensure successful end to end project delivery;
  • Build relationships with and ensure effective management and engagement with all project stakeholders, utilising both strong influencing and change management skills;
  • Direct and coordinate the development of strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of project outcomes as part of an overall post-implementation review cycle;
  • Prepare and deliver high quality papers, briefs, presentations and correspondence;
  • Effectively manage, guide, mentor and develop team members and appropriately manage associated team workflow and performance;
  • Work in a collaborative and agile manner as a senior member of a team across the Agency.

Key Criteria:

  • Demonstrates the right skills and experience, a good understanding of the requirements and works in an agile way;
  • Technical competence is also assessed by reviewing the candidates resume against the requirements of the position;
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a similar role;
  • Delivers on intended results and outcomes;
  • Availability and capacity to undertake the role;
  • Ability to develop and contribute to innovative solutions;
  • Ability to make decisions, involves others as appropriate.
