Linux Engineers

Our Client, an established federal government department is seeking to engage Multiple Linux Engineers to a contract opportunity. The team consists of four technical staff members and a manager, whom are experienced and work well together. Currently, there is no dedicated Linux/VoIP resource, and they are looking for friendlyand knowledgeable individuals to join their team.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Management of the division’s Linux fleet, including the implementation of a centralized patching and management solution, Linux builds, optimization, troubleshooting, and integration with existing infrastructure, such as Active Directory, Defender 365, and monitoring systems;
• Implement a centralized user account authentication and authorization management solution for the entire AAD Linux fleet. Focus on security hardening with the goal of achieving best practice ACSC Essential 8 maturity level one, and ideally higher;
• Expertise in Linux system troubleshooting for a range of technologies that run on Linux operating systems, including Python, PostgreSQL, Apache, Tomcat, Java, etc., is advantageous;
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is highly desirable, particularly with Ansible;
• VoIP system management, patching, service requests, creation and implementation of backup and disaster recovery plans for VoIP, and any necessary uplift work to ensure the resiliency of the VoIP system.

Technical skills

• Proven experience in managing and maintaining a large-scale Linux fleet;
• Expertise in implementing centralized patching and management solutions for Linux systems;
• Strong skills in Linux builds, system optimization, troubleshooting, and integration with existing infrastructure, including Active Directory, Defender 365, and monitoring systems;
• Experience in implementing and managing centralized user account authentication and authorization solutions for Linux systems;
• Focus on security hardening to achieve best practice ACSC Essential 8 maturity level one or higher;
• Experience in managing, patching, and supporting VoIP systems.
