Infrastructure Network Engineer Contract

Our client, a statutory Federal Government agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats, is seeking multiple Infrastructure Network Engineers to join their team.

Duties/Skills:

• Plan and execute large roll outs of ICT infrastructure within controlled datacentres.
• Accountable to contribute to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure problems.
• Design and implement network/system changes and maintenance routines.
• Investigate and resolve network problems.
• Undertake datacentre and/or telecommunications hardware build, maintenance and management of the environments they are used in.
• Install and configure network connected equipment and perform basic fault investigations as they arise.

Criteria:

• Holds a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or similar field.
• Intermediate understanding of network fundamentals, such as protocols, architectures, devices, topologies and standards.
• Knowledge of differing optical fibre and optical link budgets.
• Basic knowledge and experience of network security.
• Practical knowledge of data transmission networks and experience with installations and upgrades.
• Practical knowledge of datacentre designs.
