Business Analyst x 4 Contract

  • Business Analyst x 4 – Legislative/Regulatory – Modelling
  • 12 + 12 + 12 month contracts
  • Baseline security clearance required – ESC highly desirable
  • ACT, QLD, SA, NSW or VIC – Hybrid arrangement – 3 days per week onsite

Our client, a large Federal Government department based in ACT, QLD, SA, NSW or VIC, requires four (4) experienced Business Analysts for 12 + 12 + 12 month contracts.

These projects are legislative/regulatory, enhancements to assist efficient processing and deliver system changes to support new Government and departmental initiatives.

You will be responsible for analysing and mapping business processes for high priority work, using expertise to interpret technical documents and convert technical language for consumption.


  • Initiating, defining, documenting and delivering business analyst artefacts.
  • Gathering requirements and functional specifications.
  • Preparing, performing and co-ordinating elicitation of requirements including brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation or interviews, and confirming or reporting on results;
  • Analysing business impacts, client management processes and procedures, validating solutions;
  • Planning and executing the transition of operational areas to the new arrangements based on business impact analysis and ‘As Is – To Be’ modelling;
  • Clearly define and clarify business needs to create an action plan, solution report or business case for consideration;
  • Gathering and analysing core requirements, assessing the current state of the business to identify and recommend improvements for consideration by the senior users and providing strong analysis, verification and validation on the recommended improvements;
  • Conducting stakeholder analysis to increase engagement with a range of key stakeholders to effectively understand cross business functions;
  • Preparing, reviewing and contributing to clear business and stakeholder requirement documentation including prioritising, organising and verifying the requirements;
  • Supporting user acceptance testing to ensure that deliverables accurately reflect the requirements;
  • Supporting the change manager in the development of change artefacts to enable the successful implementation of requirements;
  • Supporting the project team to produce departmental specific artefacts as required;
  • Participating in Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) ceremonies.

Selection Criteria

  • At least five years of experience in providing business analysis capability across Federal Government.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management.
  • High level understanding of business value related to features and functions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate business analysis and requirements gathering workshops.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering BA artefacts, such as functional and non-functional requirements and process flow diagrams.
  • Proficient with applicable project management tools and technology.
