Actuarial Analyst (x3) – APS5

• 12+12 Month Federal Government Contract
• Richmond (VIC), Surrey Hills (NSW) or Adelaide (city)
• Australian Citizenship required
• Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days WFH

Our Federal Government Client has a labour hire requirement for three APS5 Actuaries / Data Scientists to begin long term contracts in their Data and Analytics Division.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse.
• Efficiently using relevant software including Microsoft Office and SAS.
• Updating and replication of regular performance monitoring.
• Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
• Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
• Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.

Essential criteria

• This position is within the professional job stream and the officer must possess relevant academic qualifications, including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or other relevant equivalent qualifications
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team, on both urgent work and long-term projects with high enthusiasm, drive and a determination to be part of a vital, growing and successful organisation
• Progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications within the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent international qualification).
• Experience using programming languages such as SAS/Python/R/SQL.
