Our client, a very large, Federal Government Organisation, responsible for National Security, law enforcement, emergency management, citizenship and border security, are Seeking the experience of a Solution Architect for a 4 month contract (possible extension), based in Belconnen, North Canberra.

The primary duties of the Solution Architect will include but not be limited to:

• Technical assurance of solutions across a broad range of ICT infrastructure environments;
• Developing, contributing and reviewing technology and system architecture artefacts (solution designs / blueprints);
• Ensuring artefacts produced are fit for purpose, adhere to the architecture standards and patterns, and are suitable for approval to the respective governance boards;
• Determining traceability of ICT Detailed Design to higher level documentation;
• Translating business requirements into functional system requirements by conducting complex/technical researching and analysis activities;
• Providing technical leadership, guidance and support in the deployment of complex applications and systems in the Department?s ICT environment;
• Providing strategic guidance, leadership to team members including developing, coaching and mentoring junior or less experienced staff to ensure appropriate skills transfer; and
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with specific business owners, system owners and delivery teams.

To be deemed suitable for this Solution Architect contract opportunity you must have:

• A Baseline Security Clearance or higher;
• 5+ years demonstrable experience in ICT systems architecture;
• Demonstrated experience in designing solutions across a broad range of ICT infrastructure environment;
• Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies;
• Highly developed analysis, problem solving, leadership and management skills;
• Strong documentation writing skills around solution designs, decision documentation, and build and configuration guides; and
• High level management skills including the ability to lead and plan to produce high standard results, on budget and within tight timeframes.
